Dr. Hartsog graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in 1984 after receiving a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Mississippi State University. He has taught as an Adjunct Professor in the school of Veterinary Medicine and as an Instructor in the College of Engineering at Mississippi State University. He served as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. In 2009, he was appointed to the Mississippi State Board of Dental Examiners by Governor Haley Barbour representing District IV, and was President of the Board from 2012 to 2013. He serves as an expert witness in dental legal cases and also serves as an expert witness in the Expert Review Assessment Program for the American Association of Dental Boards (AADB). He serves as a Clinical Floor Examiner for the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA) supervising Dental Licensing Examinations across the United States. He is a member of the American Board of Dental Examiners Executive Committee (ADEX) and serves as their Secretary. He is a member of the American College of Dentists and has been practicing dentistry in Jackson, MS for over 30 years.
